Dear Parents, Guardians and Families,

I hope this letter finds you and yours healthy.

The Pine Strawberry Elementary Governing Board met last night for their regular monthly board meeting.  During this meeting the Board discussed in length the reopening of the school for the upcoming school year.

Over the last few weeks the school has held several meetings with community members, families and staff to share the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Map to Restart, as well as, gather feedback based on guidance provided by ADE.  During these meetings recommendations were gathered and the attached plan was developed.

I would like to provide the attached document for additional feedback from families that were unable to provide feedback in the first round of discussions.  I ask that all feedback be emailed to me at kthomson@pineesd.org and/or call me at the office 928-946-3283.

The goal of the reopening plan is to practice, observe and modify as needed.  I understand that as with everything right now, things are constantly changing and the school plans to adapt the plan as State and Federal requirements are shared.  We are pleased that due to the student enrollment and overall size of the school, we are planning to keep the reopening as close as we can to “normal” for our students, families and staff.

I look forward to hearing back from you and having our students back in school.

Kind regards,

Kathlene Thomson, Superintendent
